Recently, the highly-anticipated 18th Busan Content Market (BCM2024) took place at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) in South Korea. Rallying under the slogan "Busan Meets Global Media Content Leaders," it attracted over 700 enterprises and nearly 2000 buyers and sellers from 45 countries, including China. As a leading company in the Chinese film and television industry, Hengdian World Studios, along with the China Television Drama Production Industry Association(CTPIA) and its member units, were invited to this grand event to engage in deep exchanges and cooperation with several South Korean film and TV production companies, collectively advancing the prosperity and development of the Chinese-Korean film and TV industry.
During the three-day exhibition, Hengdian representatives actively participated in various forums and business matchmaking activities. They delved deeply into topics such as the development trends of the Chinese-Korean film and TV industry and explored future collaboration opportunities. In these discussions, Hengdian representatives exchanged insights face-to-face with renowned South Korean production companies including KBS, MBC, SBS, SLL, and PCCW. They shared Hengdian’s experiences and achievements in innovative film industry development, exploring mutually beneficial solutions for the co-broadcasting and co-production of Chinese-Korean TV dramas and web series.
CTPIA and Hengdian World Studios garnered widespread attention and acclaim at BCM. During a tour of the event, South Korean leaders expressed hope for concerted efforts and cooperation between Chinese and Korean TV drama practitioners to achieve win-win outcomes and elevate the Chinese-Korean TV drama industry to new heights. Many South Korean producers highly praised Hengdian’s unique architectural style, rich scene resources, and professional filming services, clearly expressing a strong desire for more collaborative projects with Hengdian in the future.
In addition, Hengdian representatives engaged in productive business matchmaking and prospective collaborations with the Incheon Tourism Organization, directors, producers, and film companies from Korea on cross-border filming, joint production between China and Korea, and talent and cultural exchanges topics. This visit to Korea not only provided Hengdian World Studios with a stage to showcase its capabilities but also laid a solid foundation for closer cooperation between Hengdian and the Korean and international film industries.
Through this trip to Korea, Hengdian World Studios reaped abundant collaborative results, strengthening their confidence and determination to showcase China’s film industry prowess on the global stage.
